Liability Waivers

Liability Waivers

Read before you sign. Ask before you walk.

Participation in an A Hike With God gathering may require a completed waiver for the specific activity or event.

Why a waiver is used

Hiking and outdoor gatherings involve risks such as falls, uneven terrain, heat, storms, wildlife, transportation, remote locations, and delayed emergency response. A waiver documents that participants were informed of applicable risks and terms.

How to complete it

Use the waiver provided with the event registration or by the event leader. Complete it before participating and provide accurate information. If you do not receive the applicable form, contact us before the gathering.

Before signing

Read the entire document. Ask questions about anything you do not understand. A parent or legal guardian must handle any required consent for a minor.

Important: This webpage explains the process but is not itself the liability waiver, legal advice, medical clearance, or a guarantee of safety. The actual form supplied for an event controls its terms.

Your responsibilities still matter.

  • Choose an event appropriate for your health, experience, and present ability.
  • Follow posted rules and reasonable instructions from leaders or land managers.
  • Bring required equipment, water, medication, and identification.
  • Tell the leader when you need to stop or when a safety concern arises.
  • Call 911 for immediate danger or a medical emergency.
